Terms

Pixels,- a minute area of illumination on a display screen, one of many from which an image is composed.
image resolution- is the detail an image holds.
Megabyte - a unit of information equal to 220 bytes or, loosely, one million bytes
Megapixel - a unit of graphic resolution equivalent to one million or (strictly) 1,048,576 (220) pixels.
Gigabyte - a unit of information equal to one billion (109) or, strictly, 230 bytes
JPEG - a format for compressing image files.
PSD - which stands for Photoshop Document, is the default format that Photoshop uses for saving data
White balance - the color balance on a digital camera.
Histogram - a diagram consisting of rectangles whose area is proportional to the frequency of a variable and whose width is equal to the class interval.
Aperture - a space through which light passes in an optical or photographic instrument, especially the variable opening by which light enters a camera.
Shutter speed - the time for which a shutter is open at a given setting.
Depth of field - is the distance between the nearest and farthest objects in a scene that appear acceptably sharp in an image.
Bitmap - a representation in which each item corresponds to one or more bits of information, especially the information used to control the display of a computer screen.
Exposure - is the amount of light per unit.
Watermarking - a mark indicating the height to which water rises or has risen, as in a river or inlet. water line
Optical zoom - Changing the focal length of a camera by adjusting the physical zoom lens
Digital zoom - is a function of a digtial camera used to make the image seem more close-up.
Light meter - allows the photographer to determine which shutter speed and f-number should be selected for an optimum exposure, given a certain lighting situation and film speed.
Image stabilization - mechanism used in a still camera or video camera that stabilizes the recorded image by varying the optical path to the sensor
Noise - variation of brightness or color information in images, and is usually an aspect of electronic noise
Lag time - is the delay between triggering the shutter and when the photograph is actually recorded.
Hot shoe - a mounting point on the top of a camera to attach a flash unit and other compatible accessories.
Fish eye -  is an ultra wide-angle lens that produces strong visual distortion intended to create a wide panoramic or hemispherical image
Macro - photography producing photographs of small items larger than life size
Telephoto -  lens is a specific type of a long-focus lens in which the physical length of the lens is shorter than the focal length.
Wide angle lens - lens whose focal length is substantially smaller than the focal length of a normal lens for a given film plane.
Dslr - is a digital camera combining the optics and the mechanisms of a single-lens reflex camera with a digital imaging sensor, as opposed to photographic film.
